Prof. Noah A. Rubin -- Optics and Photonics at UCSD
Group photo (December, 2024)
Welcome! We are a new research group at UCSD led by Prof. Noah A. Rubin studying a wide range of topics in optics and photonics with a special interest in the fields of nanophotonics and polarization optics. Our work spans from fundamentals of optics all the way to practical applications in real optical instrumentation.
Some recent areas of interest include:
- The theory of polarization-sensitive diffractive optics (i.e., “metasurfaces”), including new devices these enable.
- Compact cameras for polarization imaging using these metasurface polarization optics.
- The application of these to sensing, including in atmospheric science, astronomy, and other areas of interest to NASA.
Please see our publications (here or on Google Scholar) for more information.
